Greetings from Denali Basecamp!

We were flown in from Talkeetna this morning after waiting through some bad weather yesterday. We are all very happy to be here!

The climbing team consists of brothers, Mohamed and Haytham Zahid from Saudi Arabia. Ross Mackay from New Zealand is the expedition photo/videographer and the guiding team is made up of Eli Potter and Jesse Wright from the Untied States, and myself from Canada.

After arriving, we set up camp and spent a few hours going over crevasse rescue and glacier travel techniques. After dinner, we will be rigging our sleds and packing up for an early morning move onto the main Kahiltna Glacier, which will lead us to the start of the West Buttress.

The team is happy to be here and very excited to start our climb.

That’s all from base camp….goodnight!
